Super Under 14 netball Squad

Congratulations to the Concord U14 netball squad who played superbly at the weekend to qualify for the National Finals in Wolverhampton on May 16th 2009.

The day was a tough one with 8 hard games and a very hard opening game against Leeds Carnegie who were a shock to our girls going 3 -7 down at half time, in the second half played their best netball and won 6-4 but combined it meant we lost this game 9-11. From that game onwards we were fantastic with the following results-

Stomers won 15-2, Falcons won 10-3, DVC won 15-0, Harrogate Phoenix won 9-3, Wakefield Phoenix won 13-7, Spectrum won 14-10, and Hull Chevrons won 11-7- wow what a great set of results!

Congratulations to the full squad-
Elsa Pullman, Grace Black, Pippa Kay, Beth Crowley, Cara Bradshaw -King ,Lizzie Davies, Fran Duffy, Emily Gledstone, Jess Presland, Clare Wiltshire and Alex Reid.

The next training session is Thursday 23rd April at the EIS 6pm-7-30 for all this squad.
Have a good Easter break and see you all fit and keen at training after Easter!

U14 South Yorkshire Tournament
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the South Yorkshire Tournament on Saturday 28th February. We had over 30 girls participating and everyone had the chance to play lots of netball. The tournament was divided into 2 separate sections, one tournament for the “A” teams, with the top 3 going through to the Regional round and a separate tournament for the B and C teams. The Concord girls really did shine at the competition and everyone who participated deserves a “ huge congratulations” for competing so enthusiastically and in such a good spirit.

The “C” team had some tough games, but finally got it together in their last match against Stormers with an outstanding 8- 3 victory, allowing them to be placed 4th in the final rankings of the B/C tournament. The “B” team worked exceptionally hard all through the tournament and were unbeaten all day, and as a result became champions of the South Yorkshire Under 14 “B” Tournament. Well done to all these girls.

The “A” team had an outstanding day. Without doubt their skills and knowledge of the game proved to strong for their opposition and not only were they were unbeaten all day, but they all their matches convincingly, playing excellent netball. Well done to  the “A” squad who are now champions of South Yorkshire and will represent the county at the Regional Tournament on Sunday 29th March.
