Following last year's restructure by All England, Sheffield Concord U16s are again participating in the U16 Regional League this year.

Match Report

Concord U16 were no match for the Phoenix team in the final playoff at EISS on Sunday 6 April. If there are any lessons to be learned, Phoenix were there to teach them - supportive play, dogged defence, accurate passing, intercepting and disrupting any attacks, moving the ball swiftly and decisively and quality shooting.  Phoenix played like a team and took the spoils. Concord can only learn from this experience, beaten by a fair playing team with all the skills.  Well done to Concord for taking second place.

Concord U16 -08 March 2008 - put on a super-sonic display to cruise through to the final defeating a well organised Leeds Carnegie.  Concord launched off the runway playing total netball, soaking up everything Leeds had to throw at them, then got their nose ahead and pulled away to leave Leeds looking puzzled and frayed. Once Concord stepped on the gas, Leeds could find no answer - defence was emphatic, both GK and GD punishing any loose play and feeding the ball carefully out  to the intelligent midfield trio who kept working the ball forwards with confidence and skill. Some of the attacking play was frankly sublime and added to Leeds' frustration. By the third quarter, Concord got down to business and turned on the class.  Leeds had no way back and went down 35 - 20.  The Final will be held on 06 April 2008.

Concord U16 taste success in the last of their regional games with a great score on Saturday to beat Millers and move into runners-up spot in the U16 Regional League. The game was a tough one with both teams shooting particularly well.  However Concord came out on top, with an awesome display of defence, intelligent midfield link-up play and sharp-shooting attack, they pulled convincingly ahead to win 47-34. The team now play in the knock-out stage on Saturday 08 March 2008

February 2008 Congratulations to the Concord U16 team who played their first Yorkshire and Humberside game on Sunday 13th January and beat Shipley form West Yorkshire 39-23, it was a great performance by all players and we look forward to the next game on Sunday 3rd of February.
